' ' Clinton.' December 31,-r-The Sampson County Alumni association .of ,the Uni versity of North Carolina, held in "holi day banquet at the MOntague hotel, Clinton, December 29, 1922. D. C. Kerr, the secretary of the association had spared no efforts in corralling ths Alumni for this jollification. After the several toasts were responded to. the toastmaster, Fitzhugh Whltefleld, turned the meeting over to D. C. Kerr for the business session. Fitzhugh Whitfield and Fannie E. Vann were elected president and sec retary respectifully for the year 192S. The Important business of the even in- was called for by Dr. E. C. Dee, ■svho asked for a discussion of the pro posed medical school, for the state. Tins discussion was led by Fannie E. Vann, an alumna, of Trinity and former student at the university. Col. C. M. Falrcloth, H; E. Faison, Dr. Kerb and others. T. H. Dee made the following motion: , “That it is the sentiment of the Sampson County Alumni association of the University of North Carolina that the state of Trinity college, and others, for a great state medical college This motion was seconed by Dr. d. D Kerr, one of Sampson county's fore most physicians, and unanimously adopted by the association. Where upon, Col. Faircloth made the motion: “That the resolution Just adopted be drawn up In. its proper form and a ropy be sent to the Governor of North Carolina, ex-officb chairman of the board of trustees of the University o North Carolina,tan,d a copy to Dr. E.
